The US-led coordination center overseeing Gaza reconstruction will be operational in the coming days, officials say.

The command center, which is tasked with coordinating security, aid and reconstruction efforts inside Gaza, will be responsible for be led by a three star American general, at least initially, he has not been publicly identified. The center is located inside Israel, only northeast of Gaza at an undisclosed location to the public for safety reasons. Officials said the center not be located on an Israeli military base to ensure that it can remain open to officials from other countries involved in the reconstruction of Gaza.

The center is seen as key to executing the extraordinary logistics involved in trying to rebuild and secure Gaza after two years of war. The United States and other countries are still discussing what an international security force would look like and how it would operate within the strip, as well as how food and other aid would be distributed.
Trump has already sent 200 American soldiers to coordinate heavy lifting; These military units specialize in transportation, planning, logistics and security. They will work together with representatives from other partner countries, the private sector and non-governmental organizations.
Sources say the command center is starting slowly, reaching what the military calls “initial operational capacity” in the coming days.
Senior White House aides told reporters Wednesday that the creation of the International Stabilization Force is underway. They said Indonesia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Azerbaijan and other Arab and Muslim countries have offered to play a role.
“The International Stabilization Force is starting to exist, starting to build and once that happens, there will be more efforts, but there is a lot of planning and a lot of very positive conversations between the parties,” said a senior US official.
