Secretary of Defense Pete Hegesh to tell hundreds of generals about the “warrior spirit” at the rare meeting: Fuentes

At the unusual meeting of the next week of several hundred generals and high -level American admirals, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, will deliver his message of restoring the “warrior spirit” to the US army and presenting new standards towards that objective, according to five US officials.

Many of the senior military officers will come to the marine base in Quantico, Virginia, from all over the United States and from all over the world to listen to Hegseth in an event that could last only 30 minutes according to two officials.

ABC News has previously reported that only officers in command positions do not become personnel positions to the meeting and that the senior enlisted advisor will also be joined in that unit.

Five US officials told ABC News that the rare meeting will allow Hegseth to personally tell the officers about the warrior spirit he imagines for the United States army and the way forward.

That will also include a discussion of the new standards associated with how to achieve that goal and how the US army will be conducted.

Pentagon’s press secretary, Kingsley Wilson, refused to tell ABC News about what Hegseth planned to argue at Tuesday’s meeting.

Restoring the warrior spirit for the US Army. It is a message that Hegseth regularly delivers during his commitments in the United States and abroad.

While it is common for Hegseth and the previous defense secretaries to meet with generals and admirals during their trips or in the Pentagon, it is unusually rare that many high -ranking officers are gathered in a place to listen to the Secretary of Defense.

In general, there are 838 general general officers and admirals in active duty, 446 of them are of the highest ranges of two stars, three stars and four stars, according to the latest statistics of the June Pentagon, although it is difficult to determine an breakdown of how many officers are in command positions compared to the personnel positions.

Several questions have been raised about the largest security requirements that will be needed in the large marine base located 35 miles south of Washington, DC

Questions have also been raised about the important travel and accommodation costs that would be associated with the transport of so many high -level military officers and their high -alist advisors to Quantico, two US officials said.

The video of Tuesday’s meeting will be recorded by the Pentagon for the future public distribution, according to officials.

The invitations that came to the officers in command positions earlier this week did not reveal a reason or issue of why they were being summoned to the meeting in Quantico.

Because of that, speculation between military officers had been unbridled on the issue for the meeting and if it was related to its previous announcement this year of a 20% reduction in the number of four -star rank officers.

Concerns had also been raised about their previous removal of 15 superior military officers of their positions, including General Charles “CQ” Brown, Jr., the then president of the Jefes of the Joint Chiefs, and Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the main admiral of the Navy.
