NATO aircraft hastened in the middle of the night in Russian unmanned planes in Ukraine

London – Two German combat planes were fought against the Romanian-Ukrainian border on Tuesday night in response to a Russian drone attack in the border region, said Romania’s Ministry of Defense in a statement.

The Ukraine Air Force said that Russia launched 93 drones and two ballistic missiles to the country during the night, of which 62 drones and a missile were demolished or suppressed. The Air Force reported impacts of drones and missiles in 20 locations.

Oleg Kiper, head of the ODESA Regional Administration, said the drones reached the infrastructure and production facilities in the city of Izmail in the Danube river, on the border with Romania, a NATO member.

The fires exploded at the attack site and at least one person was injured, Kiper said.

The attack led to the fight of two Typhones of the German Air Force “to monitor the air situation in the border area with Ukraine, in the north of Tulcea County,” said Romania’s Ministry of Defense in a statement published on social networks.

The German aircraft currently deployed in Romania as part of the improved air surveillance missions of NATO, which were introduced along the eastern flank of the block after the seizure of Russia of Crimea and parts of the East of Ukraine in 2014.

Romania’s “Air Surveillance System” identified “groups of drones launched by the Russian Federation that attacked the Ukrainian ports in the Danube,” said the ministry. “During the mission, there were no penetrations of airplanes in national airspace.”

Allied planes are often stirred in NATO nations such as Poland and Romania in response to long -range Russian attacks in Ukraine, which are regularly directed to locations along the border of Ukraine with their NATO neighbors.

During the previous attacks, the Russian drones and missiles have entered the NATO airspace. They have found russian ammunition or fragments in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia. Russian missile fragments have also been found in Moldova, which limits Ukraine to the southwest, but it is not a NATO state. The NATO member, Poland, has also reported several violations of his airspace by Russian missiles and drones.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said its forces knocked at least 42 Ukrainian drones during the night until Wednesday morning.

Temporary restrictions were introduced on flights at Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Tambov and Nizhny Novgorod airports during night attacks, said Russia Rosaviatsiya’s federal air agency.
