Dominion, Rudy Giuliani Reach ‘Confidential Agreement’ in a defamation case of $ 1.3b

The Dominion Voting Machine Company has resolved its defamation demand for $ 1.3 billion against Trump’s former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, on false accusations around the 2020 presidential elections, according to the company.

The agreement occurred a few days after the company said they reached another agreement with another Trump lawyer, Sidney Powell.

“The parties have agreed to a confidential agreement of this matter,” said a Dominion spokesman in a statement to ABC News on the Giuliani case.

A judicial presentation in the ongoing civil case against Giuliani showed on Friday the parties that sought a voluntary dismissal of the matter. Details about the agreement were not made available.

“Each party will have the fees, expenses and costs of their own lawyers,” said the presentation.

The “Confidential Agreement” would end the case that covered for four years, since Dominion presented for the first time is a claim of $ 1.3 million dollars against Giuliani in January 2021.

The lawsuit accused Giuliani of carrying out “defamatory falsehoods” about the domain following the 2020 elections partly to enrich themselves through legal fees and their podcast.

A Giuliani lawyer in the case did not immediately respond to the application for ABC comments.

Dominion also sued Powell in January 2021 for $ 1.3 billion, accusing her of leading a generalized campaign to spread the false electoral theories that won currency with President Donald Trump.

Last week, a presentation in the case of defamation against Powell also showed the parts that they were looking for voluntary dismissal.

“The parties have agreed to a confidential agreement of this matter,” said a Dominion spokesman.

A former Federal Prosecutor, Powell, became a nearby Trump advisor in the final days of his first term, meeting with Trump repeatedly while riding increasing attempts to cancel the result of an election that lost for more than 7 million votes.

Powell’s lawyers did not respond to ABC’s request for comments.
