Missing Alabama boy, 4, found dead 2 miles from home: police

Police in Alabama announced Friday the death of a 4-year-old boy who had been missing since Wednesday.

Johnathan Everett Boley was found about two miles from his father’s home in Walker County with his dog Buck, who is alive. according to the police.

Boley was first reported missing on Wednesday and was described as having blonde hair, was 4 feet tall, weighed 50 pounds and was “believed to be in danger.” according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

He was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of Highway 195 in Jasper wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse t-shirt, black pants and Paw Patrol shoes, the alert states.

Smith noted that the search for Boley covered more than 500 acres using a helicopter, drones, 161 volunteers, 126 first responders and several police dogs.

Boley’s parents are separated and he disappeared while visiting his father in Alabama, who used to be in the military and has five visiting days a year, Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said at a news conference.

Boley’s mother arrived in Alabama from Florida on Wednesday to pick him up on Thursday. according to ABC Alabama affiliate WBMA. She is cooperating fully with authorities, Smith said at the news conference.
