Jimmy Kimmel will return to the air on Tuesday

Jimmy Kimmel will return to his night show on Tuesday, said Walt Disney Co. on Monday, the ABC’s parent company, in a statement.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production in the program to avoid further inflaming a tense situation in an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision that we make because we feel that some of the comments were evil and, therefore, insensitive,” the company said in a statement. “We have spent the last days having reflexive conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we arrived at the decision to return the program on Tuesday.”

The network announced previously on September 17 that the Kimmel program would be advanced “indefinitely.”

The action came after Kimmel commented on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” About the death of the influential conservative Charlie Kirk.

Before the network’s decision, the president of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, was announced, requested Kimmel’s suspension for the comments.

The unions representing entertainment professionals and television writers condemned the move.

Kimmel has not spoken publicly about the preference of his program or his return to the air.
