Officers involved in shots in Pennsylvania, authorities say

There has been a shooting that involved police officers in southern Pennsylvania, state officials said Wednesday.

“Send prayers to the officers already involved in the shooting in York County,” said Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, Austin Davis In social networks. “As we learn more, follow the entire police guide and stay away from the area.”

Two people are being treated at the Wellspan York Hospital in relation to the incident, confirmed a hospital spokesman for ABC News. It is not clear how many people in total may have been injured or the seriousness of the injuries.

The governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, said he has been “informed about the situation involving the police in York County” and headed to the scene in the municipality of North Codorus.

The State Attorney General, Dave Sunday, said he is also on his way to the area in the midst of the “continuous situation.”

All schools in the school district of the Spring Grove are taking refuge in their place “due to an incident involved in the officer in our area,” said the school district in a statement while stressing the situation does not involve any of its schools or students.

“Local authorities have advised us to have students and staff in our buildings as caution, while several roads in the area are closed,” said the district.
